Tourist Locked Inside a Bookstore Uses Twitter to Get Himself Freed

A tourist from Texas in the United States, David Willis, got locked in a Waterstones bookshop branch in Trafalgar Square, central London for two hours after it closed while he was still browsing, on Thursday night, yesterday.

The tourist took to Twitter and Instagram to let people know that he was trapped in the Trafalgar Square branch of the bookshop, which led to the police being notified by people about his situation.

When David was finally released, he tweeted: "I'm free."

He said he had been upstairs in the shop for 15 minutes and when he came down all the lights were out and the doors locked.

Mr Willis posted a picture of himself on Instagram behind shutters with the message:
"This is me locked inside a Waterstones bookstore in London."
