King Sunny Ade’s guitar sold for N52m at ‘Sunny on Sunday’ concert

The Sunny on Sunday concert of King Sunny Ade, Juju maestro, had a lot of great performances as well as a few surprises.

One of the most talked-about aspects of the concert was the auction sale of the legend’s Fender guitar for N52.1 million.

Although the initial auction price was N9m, many in the crowd were shocked when the bidding war intensified and the price tag was continuously raised.

Victor Ehikhamenor, artiste and writer, was responsible for designing the now-historic guitar.

Sunny on Sunday was the grand concert of the month-long celebration of King Sunny Ade’s 70th birthday.

Some of the artistes who performed at the concert were Tiwa Savage Awilo Logomba, Onyeka Onwenu, Sir Shina Peters, Darey, Omawumi, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Iyanya, Jeff and Tyson Noir.

Funke Akindele, Lolo Omotunde and comedian Tee A, served as hosts for the night.

The concert held at the Temple Balmoral Marquee, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Super music star, Donjazzy has signed former Made Men Music R&B star, Iyanya to his Mavin records.

People magazine carried an exclusive photo of a smiling Jackson with her hand on her abdomen. "We thank God for our blessing," the singer told the celebrity outlet. She gave no further details.

Jackson in April called off her "Unbreakable" world tour in a cryptic video selfie in which she said she was planning her family and had to rest up.

Jackson, the fiercely private youngest child of the famed Jackson singing family, married her third husband, Qatari businessman Wissam al Mana, in 2012.

The Game claims he has had sex with Kim Kardashian West, Khloé Kardashian and their brother's fiancée Blac Chyna.

The 36-year-old rapper hit the headlines last month when he dropped his new controversial track 'Sauce', in which he bragged he'd "f***ed three Kardashians", and now he's finally revealed he's slept with the two famous siblings and their soon-to-be sister-in-law at some point in his career.

While appearing on 'The Wendy Williams Show' on Tuesday (09.20.16), the tough-talking host grilled him on the three girls in question as he sat slumped in his chair with a grin.

She asked:

"Did you do Khloé?

"I'm going to ask you again. Because no matter what you say I think you hit it at least once."

The 'Let's Ride' hitmaker - who was romantically linked with Khloe in 2014 - replied: "Yeah."

Wendy then asked him if he'd "got down" with Khloé's older sister Kourtney Kardashian - who has three children Mason, six, Penelope, four, and 21-month-old son Reign with her estranged partner Scott Disick - but he threw it out.

However, the star's silence said it all when Wendy pushed him on whether he'd got hot and heavy between the sheets with Kim - who he's previously dated - as he didn't want to be "disrespectful" towards her now-husband Kanye West, with whom she has North, three, and Saint, nine months.

As the room erupted with cheers, he said: "I'll tell you this, Kanye is a really good friend of mine and he's got really beautiful kids and I don't want to disrespect their family."

He also admitted to getting frisky with Chyna, who is currently expecting a baby girl with Kim and Khloé's brother Rob Kardashian, even though she's not yet a Kardashian.

He explained:

"It was three [Kardashians]. It gets a little tricky. Chyna ain't married yet. It's all good, you know what I'm saying... But she cool too."

Wendy then felt the need to clarify the situation and replied with: "So in conclusion Game has been romatical with Khloé, Chyna and Kim?"

He beamed:

"Yeah but in all chillness and love. In all love. Sometimes things happen and their uncontrollable. But I'm a good guy and those are good people, it's all love."

Game set tongues waggling a few weeks ago when he released his new single, in which he rapped:

"I used to f**k b***hes that Usher Raymond passed off / Then I f***ed three Kardashians - hold that thought."

He also referred to Kim, along with Paris Hilton, elsewhere in the track.

The line states:

"Bought my first Bentley and let Kim and Paris pick the colors."

Prior to the couple's relationship, Chris was married to ex-wife Malaak Compton-Rock from November 23, 1996 until their divorced was finalized on August 22 of this year.

Rihanna and Drake, the former couple who collaborated for the song “Work” recently, are dating again, according to the Sun. The rumored reunion has left Drake “totally besotted,” the tabloid reported Saturday.

According to the report, two days before their Brit Awards performance Wednesday, Drake and Rihanna partied together at a London nightclub until the early hours. The Sun also added that the two did not attempt to hide their romance and kissed on the dance floor.

“They were like a couple of teenagers — snogging and following each other around the club,” an eyewitness told the publication. “It was like watching scenes from their new video when they danced together.”

Rihanna, 28 and Drake, 29, sparked dating rumors after the two have been seen together following “Work.” However, neither of them confirmed they were seeing each other.

Recently it was reported that Rihanna’s ex-boyfriend Chris Brown was upset with the fact that Rihanna released the single because he felt that she and the Canadian rapper were singing to get his attention. “All he [Chris Brown] want is for them to leave him alone,” sources close to Brown the singer told Urban Islandz. “Their relationship is history but she always have to be singing about him to get attention to her music and what makes him angry the most is when she allows Drake to rap about him also.”

Daniel Craig rumoured to quit 007, signs up for new TV series

Rumours intensify (again) that Daniel Craig is stepping down as James Bond, as he makes a big commitment to a new TV project.

Around the cinema release of Spectre last October, there was no shortage of speculation that Daniel Craig was quitted the 007 role. He's sent out mixed messages on that, noting that the last thing he wants to do after finishing one Bond movie is make another straight away. Reports had also suggested that he was contractually bound to make at least one more Bond movie.

But that's been thrown into doubt a little, as Craig has committed to a brand new 20 episode television series in the US. Some are interpreting that as a firm sign that he's moving on from James Bond. This certainly tallies with rumours we were told last year, too.

He's taken on a starring role in Purity, based on the novel by Jonathan Franzen, in which he'll play Andreas Wolf. Assorted broadcasters are bidding for the rights to show Purity.

Director Sam Mendes has definitely exited the world of James Bond. We'd imagine that EON will want to get a new film moving in some form by next year at the latest. If Purity lands a second season, though - if, indeed, that is the plan - then it may be time for a new 007 after all.

Kanye West’s new album and fashion show draw 20 million viewers

More than 20 million viewers watched rapper and fashion designer, Kanye West, put his own twist on a New York Fashion Week runway show on Thursday.

This was at the debut of a new album and clothing collection at famed music venue, Madison Square Garden.

West, his reality star wife Kim Kardashian and her family, including former NBA basketball player, Lamar Odom, entered the Manhattan venue to cheers from the audience.

It is the first time Odom, the estranged husband of Khloe Kardashian, has been seen in public since he fell into a coma after using cocaine at a brothel last October and was hospitalised.

The show was streamed for free online via subscription music streaming service Tidal, garnering around 20 million viewers according to the platform.

Tidal, which touts hi-fidelity streaming, is co-owned by a group of music’s top artists including West, Jay Z, Rihanna and Beyonce.

As West played new tracks for his upcoming “The Life of Pablo” album, dozens of models were unveiled standing on raised platforms in the center of the arena.

The models wore the new Yeezy Season 3 that West designed for sports brand Adidas.

The collection, launched on the first day of the city’s fashion week, featured West’s penchant for neutral tones.

But it included bright pops of pink, red and orange across the collection of leotards, tops, leggings and parkas worn by a diverse group of models.

West also announced an upcoming video game called “Only Once,” which he said was about his late mother Donda West’s journey to the gates of heaven.

The show quickly became a top social media trend, as fans tweeted about the collection and the music.

One particular explicit lyric regarding Taylor Swift on new track “Famous” garnered a strong response from fans as West rapped that he had made the pop star famous.

He referred to their infamous 2009 MTV Video Music Awards incident where West interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech on stage.

Swift and West had since buried the hatchet, but fans speculated the new lyrics could incite a feud between the two music stars.

Also getting in on the action, former drug executive Martin Shkreli tweeted out a letter addressed to West offering to buy “The Life of Pablo” for $10 million.

The objective is for the works to be released solely to him, and kept from the public.

Shkreli is currently being sued over his Wu-Tang album “Once Upon A Time in Shaolin,” the sole copy of which he bought for $2 million.

West has yet to respond to Shkreli’s offer.
