The 40-year-old former Cameroonian legend, Rigobert Song went into coma after suffering a stroke at the weekend but reports claim he has woken up and the current Chad national team boss will now undergo further treatment in France.
Former Liverpool defender Song was rushed to hospital in his home town Yaounde, Cameroon after suffering a brain aneurysm and was in critical condition but the hospital director has confirmed the patient is now breathing fine on his own without an oxygen ventilator.
Song joined Liverpool for £2.7 million in January 1999 and made 35 appearances for the Reds before signing for West Ham United.
He was capped 137 by the Cameroonian national team over the course of his international career after making his debut at 17, winning the gold medal at the 2000 Olympics.
