Abduction: Pastor kidnapped from pulpit in Kogi

The pastor whose name was given as Ayo Funsho Rapheal was at the church service at about 9:30am when the incident occurred in the full glare of worshippers.

An eyewitness said the kidnappers, about 10 in number, announced their presence with a loud gunshot, ordered everybody in the church to lie face down while the pastor who was on pulpit was dragged barefooted into the bush.

Though no body was injured, several members of the church were said to have sustained bruises  as a result of panic.

The kidnappers have kept the pastor since Sunday morning and had opened a line of communication with the church elders on Monday evening demanding N50 million ransom before the pastor can be released.

When contacted, the Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO,   at the state command, ASP Williams Aya, said they are yet to be informed by the officer in charge of the areaand promised to avail the journalists of the details when available.
