The Taraba State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Hassan Jika Ardo has assured his party’s supporters in the state that Senator Aisha Jumai Alhassan would still defeat the incumbent governor, Darius Ishaku at the appellate court.
Ardo, who stated this yesterday in Jalingo during an interview with journalists, said appealing last Sunday’s tribunal verdict of the Taraba State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal by interim Governor Ishaku is a waste of time and resources.
He added that the incumbent Governor Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was not duly nominated by his party for the last April 11, 2015 election.
He noted that the APC was the only political party that has a duly nominated candidate who contested the last April election in the state.
He called on APC supporters in the state to remain calm, stressing that the party is sure of victory at the appellate court.

He added that the incumbent Governor Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was not duly nominated by his party for the last April 11, 2015 election.
“Already, the tribunal has ordered him to vacate office on the ground that he was not sponsored by PDP or any other political party. If he wants respect from Tarabans, let him accept defeat and allow Senator Aisha to take her office,” Ardo said.He stressed that even if interim Governor Ishaku goes to court millions times, APC would continue to win.
He noted that the APC was the only political party that has a duly nominated candidate who contested the last April election in the state.
“Every Taraban knows that Ishaku was not qualified to contest, the PDP never conducted primary anywhere, and that was why the INEC appeared and testified before the tribunal. The law stated clearly that for any political party to produce a candidate, the party must notify INEC within 24 hours,” he noted.
He called on APC supporters in the state to remain calm, stressing that the party is sure of victory at the appellate court.
