Former Military dictator, retired Major General Muhammadu Buhari, has won the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC by polling 3, 430 votes out of a total of 7, 214.
He defeated Kano state governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso who had 974; former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar had 954 votes; Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha had 624 and Publisher of Leadership newspapers, Nda-Isaiah with 10 votes.
Buhari will contest against the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and incumbent president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in 2015 Presidential election.
This will be the fourth time that the former Head of State will be contesting against the candidate of the PDP. He contested against Olusegun Obasanjo in 2003, late Musa Yar’Adua in 2007 and Goodluck Jonathan in 2011 without success.
