"Dame" Angelina Jolie Receives an Honorary Title From the Queen

Angelina Jolie received an honorary damehood from Queen Elizabeth today at Buckingham Palace. She was awarded the insignia of an Honorary Dame Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George at a reception where the two powerful women took photos together.
Angelina was recognized with the honor for the work she has done to raise awareness against sexual violence around the world. It's Angelina's second new title in the past couple months after also officially taking on that of wife to Brad Pitt after their August wedding.

Since then the two have been spending time with their family as they both gear up to promote their upcoming releases — Fury for him and her directorial project Unbroken.

Brad Pitt and all of the Jolie-Pitt children reportedly joined Angelina for the event, which the palace's official spokesperson addressed, saying, "The audience itself between Miss Jolie and the queen was private.

Her Majesty presented her with the insignia in its box. Mr. Pitt and the rest of the family were introduced to the queen afterwards, however." Because she is a foreign citizen, Angelina will not officially be addressed as dame, though we wouldn't be surprised if it sticks in Hollywood.
