National Conference Extended By 6 Weeks While Delegates Bag N12.5 Million

The ongoing National Conference which stipulated for three months has been extended with 6 weeks.
The conference which started, March 17 2014, was expected to end June 19, 2014, is now going to last till July 31, 2014, making the total duration four months.

According to report, each delegate was suppose to get N3 million each per month, which was suppose to be N9 million at the end of the supposed three months. But now, due to the extension of the duration of the conference, each delegate will now get about N4.5 million more than the N9 million they were supposed to get before, the total will now be N12.5 million each.

Earlier on Monday, the conference leadership had agreed to seek extension from the federal government after it met with leaders of its 20 Standing Committees.

Meanwhile, However, a spokesperson for the conference, James Akpandem, said he is not aware of the extension.

He said: “What I know is that the period for the committees to complete their work has been extended to May 15,” he said.
